Policy
Information Network of New York (PIN-NY)
PIN-NY will be the online
gateway to assessed and synthesized policy information related
to those New York State policies that are relevant to women
and families. PIN-NY will structure policy information through
an overview of policy positions, access to research and opinions
(including interactive discussion forums), as well as information
on pending legislation, policy contacts and events. The site
is currently in planning.
MISSION
PIN-NY is a non-partisan public interest site, developed and
maintained by a university-based nonprofit research and policy
center, the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society.
It is PIN-NY's mission to increase
the access, assessment, and synthesis of research and other
documents, contact directory information, and events related
to New York State policies that are relevant to women and
families.
VISION
It is PIN-NY's vision that increased access to quality policy
information will result in more informed and more inclusive
policy decisions that ultimately lead to improved chances
and conditions for women and families in New York State.
GOALS

AUDIENCE
PIN-NY's end users are people and organizations involved in
the making, influencing, researching, and/or reporting on
New York State policies that are relevant to women and families.
For instance, PIN-NY's target audience includes advocates,
nonprofit staff and board members, policymakers and their
staff, university faculty and students, think tank employees,
reporters, and media consultants.
