Nonprofit Education
Initiative
The Nonprofit
Education Initiative is a four-year collaborative
enterprise that involves nonprofit organizations that work
on issues related to women, children,
and families; regional voluntary sector leaders; government
policy makers, and business representatives;
the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society and the
Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy
at the University at Albany. The purpose(s) of NEI are to
advance collaborative learning and
information exchange about critical nonprofit leadership
and management needs, and to strengthen
the leadership and competencies
of a broadly diverse population of voluntary sector
organization management and staff.
The
Goals of the Nonprofit Education Inititiative:
- Strengthen collaboration
among statewide associations
- Build stronger connections
between nonprofit organizations, the communities they
serve, and the university
- Increase the capacity
and competence of statewide nonprofit organizations
- Strengthen the technology
capacity and competence of core consortium
members
