Leaders of Tomorrow!
Mission: The
Liberty Partnerships Rising Stars Program (LPP) at the Center
for Women in Government & Civil Society (CWGCS) encourages young women and men in grades 7-12 to achieve academic and personal excellence, obtain their high school diploma, pursue higher education and begin workforce preparation. Rising Stars will also build new relationships, self-esteeem and the skills that will enable them to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Purpose:
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for adolescents;
- Assist students in developing the skills needed to succeed in school;
- Provide students with opportunities that enable academic, personal, and social growth;
- Encourage students to plan for their future and set goals which will allow them to achieve their dreams.
This free educational program offers a variety of services, centered around five LPP goals:

Meet requirements for high school graduation; Pursue higher

Enhance self-esteem and increase self-confidence

preparation and career exploration
Develop work readiness and job-seeking skills,
attitudes, and behaviors, and explore career opportunities
- Public policy
leadership development
Increase knowledge of public policy issues, political
structures and policy makers
- Enrichment Activities
Enhance life skills, computer competence and interest in extracurricular activities.

Tutoring/Homework Clubs
Study skills workshop
Peer support groups
College preparation and selection programs
College tours
Job readiness training
Career Exploration workshops
Job shadowing/internships
Summer Public Policy Internship Program
Community service projects
