Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy
SCAA is a policy analysis and advocacy organization which works to promote the public interest by shaping policies to improve health, welfare and human services in New York State. Priority emphasis is given to promoting wellness, mitigating disabilities, combating poverty and promoting personal independence. For well over a century, SCAA has served as a voice for social and economic justice for the children, the aged, the poor, the chronically ill and disabled in New York State. In pursuit of its goals, SCAA analyzes problems, develops policies, evaluates the quality and effectiveness of existing programs and services, reviews fiscal policies, advises public officials on available options for correcting social and economic problems and helps citizens to become informed and effective advocates for better human services in New York State.

The Statewide Emergency Network for Social and Economic Security
The Statewide Emergency Network for Social and Economic Security (SENSES) is a network of major human service, religious and labor organizations in New York State. SENSES is committed to ending poverty through long range policy development and advocacy. An essential part of this work centers on educating New York State residents about issues confronting the poor, as well as taking direct action to eliminate the causes of poverty.

New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault
It is the mission of the New York State Coalition against Sexual Assault to end all forms of sexual violence and exploitation by advocating for the effective response to all people affected by sexual assault, providing technical support and assistance to rape crisis centers, working legislatively to improve public policy, and confronting societal denial of the impact of sexual violence through statewide outreach and education. NYSCASA produces a quarterly newsletter that provides legislative information.

New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence
The New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a not-for-profit, membership organization. Coalition members include shelters, safe dwellings, safe home networks, advocacy, counseling projects and concerned individuals who share the Coalition's goal and philosophy of providing services to battered women and their children and eradicating domestic abuse. The purpose of the Coalition is to provide services, community education, planning and monitoring, and technical assistance to programs to establish and maintain shelter and related assistance for victims of domestic violence and their children, and to operate a statewide domestic abuse hotline.

New York State Association of Community and Residential Agencies, Inc.
NYSACRA is a grassroots organization that is the leading advocate for public policies and practices that champion the rights, needs, and desires of people with disabilities in New York State. It is an organization comprised of 200 not-for-profit agencies that provide services to people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. NYSACRA is the collective voice of its members in promoting public policy, community action and understanding.

New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors
The NYS Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors is a statutorily-based membership association representing the 57 county directors and the City of New York. The Conference advocates on policies in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities and chemical dependency services and provides technical support to its membership. The Conference is committed to promoting a comprehensive, integrated, cost effective system of care for adults and children throughout NYS.

New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers
NASW New York State is comprised of members that make up a large part of the social work labor force in upstate New York. These members look beyond the individual to the family, the group and society as a whole. NASW New York's goals are to address issues of the profession and social justice issues. The organization helps shape legislation that is concerned with health, education and welfare or in some way protects and strengthens opportunities and social support for individuals and families. It aims to encourage organizations to influence and guide social policies. Founded in 1955, The New York State chapter has over 12,000 members.

Hunger Action Network of New York State
Hunger Action Network of NYS is a statewide membership organization whose goal is to end hunger and its root causes, including poverty. Its 450 members are comprised of religious organizations, emergency feeding programs, welfare rights organizations, low-income individuals and other concerned citizens. Hunger Action Network works on issues related to hunger, welfare and poverty that impacts low-income New Yorkers, including women, children and families. They advocate for increased funding for childcare, welfare benefits, and for measures to strengthen the safety net for those unable to work. In the short term, Hunger Action Network addresses the problem of hunger by providing technical assistance and support to anti-hunger programs across the state.

New York State Child Care Coordinating Council, Inc.
NYSCCCC is a statewide membership organization with a two-fold mission: to promote the growth and development of quality child care resource and referral services in New York State, and to provide policy leadership and work in partnership with a broad coalition of organizations and individuals to build a diverse, quality early care and education system with equal access for all families. NYSCCCC maintains an office at the State Capital, and advocates for making quality, affordable child care available for all.

New York State Perinatal Association
NYSPA was established in 1986 to promote the well being of prospective mothers, infants, and the family unit. The association works to provide perinatal education throughout New York State. NYSPA is comprised of a broad-based constituency including consumers, nurses, public health and human service workers and physicians. They advocate for healthy mothers and babies through developing recommendations for public action and statewide program planning, widening access to health care and providing other services to meet the needs of prospective mothers.

Greater Upstate Law Project
From its offices in Rochester, Albany and White Plains, GULP provides legal research, technical assistance and substantive law training to legal services offices and community-based organizations throughout the state. GULP advocates for programs and policies aimed at improving and supporting the lives of poor and low income New Yorkers. GULP undertakes litigation on behalf of both individuals and classes in order to challenge laws, rules and regulations that adversely impact vulnerable populations.
